Yes, it’s possible. I did it but the result was not as I was expecting it to be.
I was amazed to see when I tried to Google Turbo Broiler for Baking that it is really possible. What I gathered from the few articles I read is that it may take a little bit faster to bake using a turbo broiler compared to a conventional oven since it has a smaller space for heat to circulate thus making it quicker to cook. BUT base from experience, YES it bakes/cooks faster from the outside but when you try to inspect the cake (sticking a toothpick to check, if it comes out clean then the cake is ready), the 30 minutes (or less as assumed by others) cooking time using a conventional oven does not hold true for turbo broiler. It may take more minutes (which I haven’t tried yet) to fully cook the cake. Be careful though and constantly check the cake since it is possible to burn the top.
Anyway, I’ll probably try making another cake using my turbo broiler this coming March. I will keep you posted on this one specially when I get a better result. :D
dumb question in coming: do you still cover the pan with tin foil? when you bake cake in the turbo broiler

Hi Meej, sorry for the late reply, notification went to spam :D
Anyway, yes, I still cover anything I cook using the turbo broiler. Since heat comes from the top, top most layer gets cooked first. If my assumption is correct, before the other parts of the food gets cooked, sunog na yung ibabaw if without cover. :)
HTH! Thanks for visiting.
